Tamang Heritage Trek is one of the best cultural adventures into the mountains of Nepal. The trek goes into the Langtang region of the Himalayas and goes past the villages of ethnic Tamang people of the region. This trek brings the opportunity to immerse into the beautiful cultural settings of the very innocent Tamang people who are incredibly friendly people. At the time you admire the amazing cultural life style of people, you will be accompanied by unbelievable mountain views and atmosphere for your sheer wonder.
Walk on the ethnic Tamang Heritage trail and explore ethnic culture and enjoy mountain madness from different places and villages in the region.
Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival – 1400 m
Today is your arrival day in Kathmandu. Once you finish the custom and visa process and come outside at the airport in Kathmandu, you will find a person waiting for you with our company sign board. Follow him to the car and you will be driven to your hotel. Check in, relax and spend some leisurely time.
Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour
We will take you for a historical and cultural sightseeing tour of Kathmandu after breakfast today. The tour will take you to some of the cultural heritage sites in Kathmandu valley. Those sites are Pashupatinath to see the Hindu cremation rituals on the bank of a holy river, Boudhanath which is the largest Buddhist stupa in the world, Swoyambhunath famously known as monkey temple and Kathmandu Durbar Square which is a medieval palace square where you visit the temple of living goddess, Kumari.
Day 03: Kathmandu – Syabrubensi
We start early drive to Syabrubesi after breakfast. An eight hour drive through scenic middle hills highway takes us to Syabrubesi to start the trek tomorrow towards Langtang valley. On reaching to Syabrubesi, check in to a guest house and explore the place a bit.
Day 04: Syabrubensi – Gatlang
We start the very first day of our trek after breakfast today. The walk today to Gatlang brings us incredibly scenic view of the Himalayan peaks. The very first section of the trek takes us uphill to reveal the majestic view of the Ganesh Himal and the range of Himalayan peaks. We admire the beauty of the place from the view point after the uphill walk and start trekking downhill towards Gatlang. Passing through Goljang valley, we eventually reach Gatlang, a beautiful ethnic Tamang village.
Stay overnight at a community lodge in the village.
Day 05: Gatlang – Tatopani
Our walk today takes us to Tatopani via lots of beautiful places on the way. We trek past a hydro power project to start our uphill trek for the day. It will take us around 7 hours to reach Tatopani and is the longest trekking day of the trip. Once we are at Tatopani, we may want to go for a natural hot spring bath to get relief from the long day trekking tiredness.
Day 06: Tatopani – Thuman
We are trekking to Thuman today. Most of our trekking part today is uphill but blessed by wonderful natural beauty all throughout. We will have enough time to admire the beauty of the area as we walk past those wonderful places. The final downhill section of the trail eventually takes us to the beautiful Tamang village of Thuman to stay our overnight today.
Day 07: Thuman – Briddim
We are walking to Briddim today after breakfast. Briddim is a beautiful ethnic Tamang village where we can experience their amazing cultural life style. We walk through other different beautiful villages and landscapes to go to Briddim today. Once in Briddim, we will be busy soaking ourselves into the cultural wonders of Tamang people of the village. It is a great cultural immersion that we are going to experience through.
Day 08: Briddim – Syabrubesi
We trek back to Syabrubesi today. About three hours of walk again brings beautiful landscapes and settlements before we reach Syabrubesi to stay overnight there.
Day 09: Syabrubesi – Kathmandu
We take a bus ride back to Kathmandu in the morning. Once we reach Kathmandu and check into hotel, we will have some free time to explore the streets of Kathmandu for a while.
Day 10: Departure Day
Get ready at the hotel lobby 3 hours prior to your flight time and we will transfer you to airport for your departure flight.
