Mount Annapurna Expedition

Annapurna I is the 10th highest mountain in the world which stands at 8091 meters above sea level and is the first ever 8000 meters mountain to be successfully summited in 1950 by the team led by a Frenchman, Maurice Herzog. Annapurna I lies in the Annapurna range which covers 55 kilometers of the Himalayan stretch.

The word Annapurna has a very sacred meaning referring to the goddess of food. People who believe in Annapurna will never go short of food in their life. Thus she is the goddess worshipped by people as the one who provides plenty of food.

Since its first climb, Annapurna I has attracted many climbers so far but it has also proved to be one of the most challenging and difficult mountains to climb in the world. The rate of fatalities on expeditions is a way more than the successful summit rate. However Annapurna I has never ceased to attract climbers from around the world despite its climbing difficulty level and high fatalities.

Adventure Mountain Nest’s Annapurna Expeditions are led by professional climbing Sherpa team who has acquired a good deal of experience in climbing the Himalayan peaks. Our team is well experienced and all prepared to make this challenging and difficult climb a success. Considering the weather condition in the mountain, our team leader Sherpa will take the most appropriate decision for all to bring this expedition to a success safely.
